What's the difference between the Alabama Gulf Coast CVB and the Alabama Gulf Coast Area Chamber of Commerce?

The Convention & Visitors Bureau was created to market Alabama’s Gulf Coast as a tourism destination. The CVB focuses on marketing efforts outside the local area, designed to bring in overnight visitors. The CVB also offers a tool for local tourism-driven businesses to market themselves to the 4 million+ guests that visit our area each year. The CVB operates and staffs both the Orange Beach and Gulf Shores Welcome Centers. The CVB is not a membership-based organization. It represents all businesses within the Gulf Shores, Orange Beach and Fort Morgan lodging tax districts.

The Chamber of Commerce works to foster a growing business community in the Gulf Shores/Orange Beach community. The Chamber provides service training and networking opportunities to area businesses. It also provides relocation information to those interested in moving to the area. The Chamber organizes and hosts the Annual Shrimp Festival each year. Benefits and services are limited to its members.
